Nursing Education

John Muir Health nurses are at the heart of the quality and compassionate care we provide, and we recognize the importance of investing in their professional growth and development.  Donor support makes it possible for more of our nurses to attend conferences and trainings each year that are vital to the exceptional care they deliver to our patients.

As the needs of our patients increase in diversity and complexity, so do the needs of our nurses for increased knowledge and training in highly specialized patient care.  Emerging technologies, new medical equipment and breakthrough procedures also require additional skills and expertise in order for all nurses to provide the optimal care our patients need and expect.

The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), a subsidiary of the American Nurses Association, has honored John Muir Health with Magnet® recognition status for excellence in nursing services and quality nursing care at both hospitals. The Magnet Recognition Program® recognizes health care organizations that demonstrate excellence and adherence to national standards for the organization and delivery of nursing services. Magnet recognition is the highest level of recognition that the ANCC can accord to a health care organization and honors the nursing services at John Muir Medical Center, Concord and John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek as two of the best in the nation.
